Boston Field Trip

Sixth Graders went to Boston and hiked part of the Freedom Trail where many of the sites we learned about in Social Studies and read about in Literacy came to life! We then journeyed to the Boston Museum of Science where we explored hands on exhibits, participated in several shows, and camped overnight in the museum!  The field trip was an extraordinary experiential learning event, and the students are still talking and smiling about the trip!

Studio Y Ancient Egyptian Artifacts

At Studo Y, our 6th graders created replicas of Ancient Egyptian artifacts. They used a wide variety of materials to create "museum quality" artifacts. Be sure to ask your 6th grader about the storyline about why they needed to be "museum quality!"

Vermont State House Singers

Vermont State House Singers

Six of our sixth graders and their music teacher went to the State House on April 26th to perform a song. Two of the students wrote the song, and they all performed it in front of a packed audience. They received a standing ovation and represented Westminster Center School in a brilliant light! Congratulations!

We are so very proud of our Sixth Grade Superstars!!! Be sure to listen to their performance on the video below.

Sixth Grade Shows Support

Human Heart

Our sixth graders show care and support to their teachers! We tried to all fit into the shape of a heart, then make heart hands. Our students have demonstrated empathy, especially this week, and routinely practice qualities of character. We are so very proud of them!

We had a surprise visit from a former WCS student! She pitched right in to help our class during reading. She had the opportunity to assist students complete a graphic organizer on Mesopotamia; a lesson that she completed as a student several years ago!
