Our Mission and Vision

Our Fantastic Fifth Graders brainstormed the characteristics of an optimum learning environment, then selected what was most important to them as learners. We then crafted our vision and mission statements from our responses. Every voice was heard, and every student wrote their personal commitment to our class vision and mission!

We composed Bio-Poems about ourselves and displayed them on our bulletin board.

Mr. Kussius completed our Bag It homework and shared items with our class. We learned about his interests and hobbies.

Important reminders:
* Be sure your child brings his/her red homework binder to school each day. This is critical to keep him/her organized. The binder contains a student planner with homework. Beginning Friday, the binder will also have a Reading Log, which will be turned in every Friday.
* Thursday Envelopes: signed progress reports and envelope are to be returned every Friday.
* Save the Date!!! October 11th will be mid-trimester parent conferences. More information to follow. There is no school for students that day as parents will come with their student to meet with us for a conference. We will set up a schedule for you to sign up for a specific time.
* Picture Day is October 6th.

Our Superstars!

Our Superstars have arrived! We are off to a fantastic start! We are building our community and learning about each other through art projects, hands-on activities, games and a simulation.

Be sure to ask your 5th grader about their Stranded Island project. This will be an on-going problem solving simulation to build cooperation skills and a sense of 5th grade community. Look for our progress throughout the upcoming weeks!
